Our team transformed this 1970s Northwest modern home from a dark and dated bachelor’s pad to a home more suitable to entertaining, cooking, and social life. We created the new informal dining space with vaulted ceilings that matched the home’s existing architectural style. By adding a kitchen island equipped with its own sink for food preparation, we were able to double the countertop and work space of the new kitchen.
The homeowners now enjoy an abundance of natural daylight through the new skylight, garden and clerestory windows, and sliding glass doors that open to the backyard deck. Guests of the remodeled downstairs bathroom may now enjoy the spacious glass shower or luxurious jetted tub, while the expanded master bathroom has been equipped with a state-of-the-art steam shower and spacious his/her sink stations, counters, and cabinets.
This project won the Oregon Remodelers Association Outstanding Remodeling Achievement Award for Whole House Remodel under $250K in 2012.
