Sanchez-Sasewich Backyard

These avid Eugene gardeners like to entertain and wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet of their spacious backyard. However, their two-level patio just wasn’t serving their needs – the upper level was too large and exposed, and the lower level was too disconnected from the home and garden spaces. So they called Rainbow Valley.

We remedied drainage problems around the lower patio with new decorative rock and pipe. We removed the shed roof that was attached to the house, and replaced it with a free-standing wood structure, roofed with a light-weight and colorful plastic material called Suntuf. A new stone stairway was added at the corner of the lower patio to improve circulation through the flower garden and connect the patio to the vegetable garden. New steps were poured between the two patio levels and at the dining room patio door. Electrical lighting and a ceiling fan were added to create ambiance and comfort.
