Snowhill-Wisbeski Sunroom
The low ceilings and confined space of our clients’ original family room felt claustrophobic, especially when entertaining guests. The only existing escape—an uncovered deck outside the family room—was often overexposed to the northwest weather.
Our team removed the underutilized deck and constructed a large vaulted sunroom over a new covered patio. Innovative custom steel framing allowed our build team to maximize the number of windows and height of the new sunroom. Tight knot cedar ceilings and decorative walnut inlays offer texture and contrast to the white oak used in the sunroom windows, doors, posts, and flooring. A mantle of antiqued Cambrian Black granite sits atop the stonework of the gas fireplace, marrying old-world feel with modern functionality.
This project won the Oregon Remodelers Association Outstanding Remodeling Achievement Award for Residential Addition $100K-$250K in 2013.
