Stoddart Sunroom and Entry Addition
This coastal cabin built in the 1940s has seen many storms from its perch above where the Yachats River meets the ocean, but perhaps even more wearing were the many ill-conceived additions built on over the years. One such project was abandoned after a concrete slab had been poured—without a permit or drawings—for an entry area to the kitchen. Our team designed, permitted, and built to code a new sunroom and covered entry using the footprint of the existing slab. The beautiful new space brings in morning and afternoon light that the original house had lacked. The home’s existing deck and railing was also repaired and extended for a more pleasant and protected experience.
This project won the National Association of the Remodeling Industry NW Regional Contractor of the Year Award for Residential Addition under $100K in 2012.
“Rainbow Valley designed and built an addition to my house. They kept the costs within the bid price, maybe even a bit less and did quality high standard work. The project was completed in the time frame given, they only missed one day of work due to inclement weather. Scott, listened carefully to what I wanted in the design. If there were any problems we worked them out together. I would gladly hire them again. The finished product is better than I could have imagined.”
