Friendly Neighborhood Landscape
The client wanted a more welcoming and engaging entry sequence that offered better connections to the planting areas in the front yard, and a clear view of the front door from the entry point below. We replaced the winding wooden stair with a concrete one that integrates with a series of terraces for gardening, lawn games, seating and sculpture. Materials and plantings include, colored sand finish concrete, bluestone slab wall caps, bluestone flagstone at the lower landing, custom steel handrails, gates and pet fencing, and two Mountain Ash trees (Sorbus Aucuparia) that the client remembers fondly from growing up in eastern Europe.
